Birthed as a small workshop in a dance studio, Edison has evolved into an international piece of work which will find homes in both North America and Europe. We are a group of emerging artists with the mission of international and multicultural exposure and education. Our work is developed under a highly collaborative structure, where the goal is to create work that makes text, movement, and design equally essential.
Edison is a genre-bent, divine journey into the asymmetrical world of scientific giants, Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla. Alternating between the fluorescent shine of an industrious America and the faded glimmer of a forgotten home: hypnotic factory foreman, Thomas Edison, puppeteers the employees of his company in chronicling the life of “the man who invented the 20th century,” Nikola Tesla.
With a collision of corporeal music and experimental movement, the bitter feud between Edison and Tesla bubbles up at the water cooler culminating in one of the biggest stand offs in scientific history.
